John has over 40 years in the building industry including the major UK nationals Travis Perkins and Jewson plus an Independent timber merchant. He began his career working in a timber yard and warehouse and worked his way up through various sales, operational and management roles including Sales Rep, Branch Manager, Sales Manager, Area Director and Regional Director.

John is very customer focussed and understands that it is vital to get close to your customer base to establish their needs and set up your offer accordingly. He is a big believer in giving the employees a great experience at work so they in turn can give our customers a great experience when they deal with us.

Shaun joined the NP Group in 2001, initially with Quayside, having previously been employed within the construction industry for most of his working life.

During his time with the NP Group, Shaun has been involved with many of the NP Group companies.

In 2011 Shaun moved within the NP Group to Norman Piette to become Operations Director. Working with the management team, he was able to play a part in shaping the business whilst it underwent a major redevelopment over a few years. He played a fundamental role in developing new areas of business including a kitchen and bathroom showroom.

Shaun is currently the Operations director at Norman Piette.

Lindsey is a Graduate of Newcastle University with an honours degree in Marketing Management who joined Norman Piette in 2013, having never set foot in a Builders’ Merchant previously. Initially as Marketing Assistant she is now Sales and Marketing Director, leading the great teams we have in both areas of the business. Outside of working hours she is a dog lover, keen skier and enjoys the occasional quiet evening out.

Matt has worked in the Builders Merchant sector since 2000 working for a family builder’s merchants initially as a Management Trainee and working in various positions including Operations, Sales, Branch Management and more laterally for Jewsons since 2010 to 2019 in Area Director & Business Unit Director roles running a number of branches.  Having had a few years out of merchanting to try another industry; the pull of merchanting was too strong and during 2023 joined the NP Group to look after the Timber, Mill & Ecohomes for Norman Piette in Guernsey, as well as heading up responsibility for the Quantum business in Jersey.  Matt has always loved Guernsey with a big family presence on the island, and the community feel always makes it a great place to spend your life.  Matt loves working with people whether it is customers, staff or suppliers which makes merchanting truly special; and enjoys relaxing by walking and reading in his spare time.

Ben is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and graduate of University College London, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. He began working in accountancy in 2008 and joined Norman Piette as Group Accountant in 2016. In 2018 Ben left the group to expand his IT and technical experience, but returned in 2020. His responsibilities include the financial reporting for the group and management of the finance and accounts teams. Outside of work he is a keen computer nerd, dog lover and travel enthusiast.

Steve is the Executive Manager for IT and is responsible for the NP Group`s technology needs. In a world where we are so reliant on technology there is always something new to look at including better infrastructure, introducing new technology around the business and the very latest software. Steve has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry and graduated from London Southbank University with an honours degree in Construction Management. He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and is an Incorporated member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). In his spare time, Steve enjoys researching history with a particular interest in the occupation of the Channel Islands during World War 2.

Simon joined Norman Piette in early 2019 after an impressive career, having joined the timber trade in 1990 after a spell in the Royal Navy. He began his career as a lorry driver for a timber merchant in Bristol, but soon moved into sales and became a timber sales representative and product manager before then moving to Heavyside Manager. He worked as branch manager at a timber merchant in Bristol before moving on to manage an engineered timber company that designed and manufactured joists, trusses and timber frames houses.
Simon has worked for many well-known brands in the UK timber industry such as Robbins Timber, James Latham, Timbmet & Premier Forest Products.  He moved to Guernsey to take up his post and was attracted to the Island by the opportunity to make new friends, take up new hobbies and work with Norman Piette.

Craig joined in late 2003 as a truss fabricator back in the days before EcoHomes, cutting and fabricating trusses and timber frame panels. After 4 years a job opportunity arose within the timber mill which Craig accepted, becoming timber server in 2007. He thoroughly enjoyed the role, learning a great deal of hardwood knowledge. In 2010, the manager approached Craig regarding a machinist job which he took and loved every minute of, especially making cutters for new profiles and experimenting with the timber.

In 2012, Craig was promoted to mill supervisor and also took on additional duties, including the buying side of timber. When NP launched a new computer system, Craig was heavily involved with staff training, which included visits to other Group businesses including Annandale and Blanchards in Alderney. He then took part in an 18 month in-house development programme, which gave him skills and business knowledge which allowed him to transition to mill manager in 2015. Craig moved to the Health and Safety position in 2021 and is excited about what the role entails.

No stranger to working for local family businesses Andy joined the Norman Piette Group from Bucktrouts (Part of the CI Traders Group) where he worked in many roles from deliver driver working up to Financial Controller for the pan island group. He has been with the Norman Piette group for 10 years, starting out as office manager at Annandale on the 29^th April 2009.  He moved to Norman Piette in early January 2011 as a Purchase Ledger supervisor before being promoted to Finance Manager.  Andy has also been involved in the development of the ERP computerised system.

In his spare time Andy enjoys watching and playing football, as well as coaching the football minis, and recently achieved his Level 1 FA Football Coach qualification.

Ryan joined Norman Piette back in 2018 as a heating designer after working at B&Q for over 9 years in multiple roles and over 3 years at HSBC. Ryan started out completing an IT course at the College of Further Education where we received 3 A Levels and an NVQ. During Ryan’s time at B&Q he was placed onto their training program “Aspire” to forward his progression into a management role. Ryan moved to HSBC in 2014 and went from Cashier to Front of House assistant, to then Cashier supervisor.

Ryan is now our Plumbing & Heating’s Customer Service Manager, building strong relationships with his customers and staff, ensuring that Norman Piette can supply all needs of Plumbing & Heating to our customers and becoming a one-stop shop by bringing in new market leading products.

Outside of work, you will find Ryan cliff walking with his wife, playing video games, designing images or logos on Adobe Photoshop or cheering on his football team, Chelsea.

Simon is currently the Building Centre Manager and has been in his current position for over 7 years. He first joined Norman Piette in 1989 and has always worked within the Building Centre, going from Shop Assistant to Supervisor before finally taking over as Manager.

He has a Business Management degree which is studied for whilst at Norman Piette and is also a member of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongery. Simon is very passionate about his job and prides himself on leading a successful team and introducing a steady flow of new and innovative products into the business.

Outside of work you will find Simon walking his dogs, Minnie and Skye, most evenings on the beach.

Dave is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He began working in accountancy in 2005 and joined Norman Piette as Group Accountant in 2022. His background is in Commercial Finance specialising in Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis. His responsibilities include Budgeting & Forecasting and Management Accounts & Reporting for the Group. Outside of work, he can be found playing hockey or exploring the island with his family.

Dalen is a graduate of Wolverhampton University with a first-class honours degree in Marketing Management. He started his career in a marketing agency managing a variety of clients from Aurigny to Aladdin’s cave, he then spent some time in Specsaver’s creative department before joining Norman Piette in 2020. Initially starting out as a Marketing Assistant he is now Marketing Manager, managing everything from our website and social media to radio advertisements and customer events. Outside of work he can be found boating, smoking meat, or learning something new.

Sam has joined the NP team having returned from Australia where he has spent his time over the past few years. Originally from Warwickshire, Sam’s sales background varies from office supplies, Furniture, Office technology and most recently, Solar. He has spent the last few years working for a startup company in Australia, managing and rebuilding a post-pandemic office and sales team. Sam has been brought in to manage the sales team, maintain customer relationships and ensure that all systems run smoothly.
Outside of work, don’t be surprised if you bump into Sam walking along the coast or on the 19th hole after a round of golf.

Born in Wales Richard moved to Guernsey in 1989 and joined Norman Piette in the late 90’s, initially in the Joinery Store and then as a Sales Negotiator.  In 2006 he relocated to the Isle of Wight working for Travis Perkins as an Assistant Branch Manager and then Branch Manager.

The great way of life in Guernsey tempted his family back in 2014, where he again worked for Norman Piette, this time on the Trade Counter. Since 2015 Richard has been out on the roads as a Sales Rep, visiting customers and driving business. It’s a challenging and fulfilling role, especially with the current economic challenges.

Away from working life you’ll find him somewhere cheering on the Welsh rugby team, usually with a pint in hand!

Paul joined Norman Piette in 1999 following a vast career change from a pub landlord. Initially as a driver, before a move to the Trade Counter and then finally to the Sales Team in 2003. This experience in various departments meant Paul was able to build an exceptional product knowledge across all ranges. This knowledge combined with an great customer service ability were reasons behind Paul becoming a Sales Rep, which is his current role.

Peter joined the company back in July 1991 in the Plumbing department as a counter assistant, after a while he moved into the Quotes department for 4 years before moving back into plumbing. He has played a significant role in developments of the Plumbing and Heating Centre, including the development of a new warehouse and the complete re-vamp of the internal department.
