Longest serving employee retires from Norman Piette

May 3, 2022 | News | By Dalen Vile

Steve started his career in the Charroterie Saw Mills in 1969 aged 15, putting timber cargoes away, be that without the use of a forklift. After the formation of Norman Piette in 1973 he was promoted to Supervisor of the Hardwood section. He has since held various timber positions before finally retiring in the position of Timber Executive Manager.

“I will miss the people, all the different characters I’ve met, as well as the customers and suppliers that I have dealt with for many years” Steve said.

Steve puts his long service down to a combination of loving his job and having passion for the products, as well as working with a great bunch of people.

As one of the most well-known and longest serving employees of Norman Piette, Steve will most certainly be missed. His knowledge, dedication and commitment, over the last 53 years, is a fantastic achievement and we are very thankful for his contribution to the company.

We wish Steve a very happy, and well-deserved retirement.
