Goods-In Assistant

Purpose of the Role

To receive and dispatch merchandise in our busy Goods In department with care and pack goods for replenishment. Support the Stock & Purchasing team by carrying out general administrative duties, update records and communicate on deliveries/damages/stock across the business to the appropriate teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Checking goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damage.
  • Loading and unloading trucks and vans with a forklift truck in line with health & safety procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documenting all activities and discussions.
  • Physically moving stock from the Goods In area to the relevant department.
  • Maintaining warehouse and department tidiness/recycling where possible.
  • Ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded.
  • Proactively making recommendations to the Supervisor to help identify opportunities to update or improve procedures and standards.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager to aid business / department success.
  • Adhere to the Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
  • Adheres to and delivers the Group Values in all aspects of the role.

Essentials Skills and Knowledge

  • Holds a valid forklift truck license or is willing to undertake training to obtain license.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Works in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Organised with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Computer literate

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in a similar role.

 

General Information

A relevant Population Management Permit is required. This role is for a full time, permanent position.
